Common questions

Is this SDS search free?
Yes. Searching the library is free and needs no account. You can look up a sheet by product name, manufacturer, CAS number or synonym.
What is a safety data sheet?
A safety data sheet is the document a chemical manufacturer must supply for a hazardous product. It has 16 standard sections covering hazard identification, composition, handling, exposure controls and physical properties.
How do I find an SDS by CAS number?
Type the CAS number into the search box. The index covers the CAS numbers listed on each sheet, including those of individual ingredients, so a search returns every product containing that substance.
Does OSHA require safety data sheets to be accessible?
OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard requires employers to keep a safety data sheet for every hazardous chemical in the workplace and make it readily accessible to employees during each work shift.
