GHS & hazard classification
Secondary container label
The label required when a chemical is transferred out of its original manufacturer container.
When a chemical is decanted into a different container, that container must be labelled unless it is for the immediate use of the person who transferred it and is emptied within their shift.
The label needs the product identifier and the hazard information: in practice, the pictograms, signal word and hazard statements from the original sheet.
Generating these from safety data sheet data is more reliable than writing them by hand, since the classification is already recorded.
