GHS & hazard classification

HNOC

Hazard Not Otherwise Classified

An adverse effect that does not meet the criteria for any defined GHS hazard class but still warrants warning.

A Hazard Not Otherwise Classified covers an adverse physical or health effect identified during classification that does not meet the criteria of any defined GHS class.

HNOCs are disclosed in Section 2 of the safety data sheet but do not require a pictogram or signal word, since neither is defined for them.

They appear as physical HNOC or health HNOC depending on the nature of the effect.
